The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever
Noah has been begging me to make cookies all week so, I went online to Allrecipes.com (one of my favorite recipe sites) and entered "best chocolate chip cookies." This is the recipe that appeared. So, I went to work making cookies (even though it was almost 90 degrees outside that day - ugh.) The cookies turned out super yummy. I like to add "extra" stuff to my cookies - this time I did not have enough chocolate chips so I added white chocolate chips too.
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla (I always add a little extra of this)
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (I use milk chocolate chips)
2 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350. Combine flour, and baking soda in a separate bowl. In mixer combine soften butter and shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in egg. Gradually add flour mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and any other goodies you want to add. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes. Keep an eye on them - you don't want them to get too brown, you want them to be soft and chewy! Enjoy.
