Smokin' Recipes

The other morning I was in the process of cooking breakfast and boiling water for our french press when all of the sudden I started smelling smoke. Then I realized that I had set my recipe box on the front burner and it was turned on - AH! My recipe box was completely melted on the bottom. I safely retrieved my recipes and threw the box in the garbage. Now what? What should I do with all of these beloved recipes? I started searching for a new recipe box but had no luck. I then decided to go online and find out how other people organized their recipes. After much searching I decided to head out and purchase a cute notebook, plastic dividers for 4x6 cards and dividers for types of recipes. Here is how I have put together my recipe notebook.

I chose a basic black binder with turquoise stitching and lining.
You can purchase 4x6 photo sheet protectors.
I placed 2 recipes with titles showing on each side.
Meet my handy dandy label maker - love it!
I added labels to each divider.
It is finished!
I'm not sure if I'm going to love this method but I thought I would give it a try. Going through all of my recipes was super helpful. I threw out about 20 recipes I didn't like. I like this binder because it is super easy to find the recipe I am looking for. Another option I considered purchasing was this great find on Etsy.
