Build a Fort

I love this! If you have a child, especially a boy, and invite us to his/her bday party you may receive this as a gift. So fun, and who doesn't love building forts?

Head to ARMOMMY blog to get the exact details on how to do this. So fun, easy and adorable!

The Fair

Last Thursday we headed to the Puyallup Fair. We wanted to do one more fun event before school officially started up again (the teachers in Tacoma were on strike - but that's a long story.) So, we headed to the Puyallup Fair. What I love... Piroshkys, my boys faces when they go on the rides, Todd enjoying his boys, the lights when it gets dark out and the animals. We love the fair!

Mad Hat Tea=Love

I am a huge coffee fan but I love keeping yummy tea and other fun drinks in our house for guests. My new favorite tea is Mad Hat Tea. They have an amazing variety of unique and super tasty tea. I also adore the art work on each tea variety. It just fits Tacoma. Please check it out.

Football in Nebraska

Yesterday we returned home from a quick trip to Nebraska. I know, I know, why Nebraska? We have family friends that live in Lincoln and last year they came out for the Husky vs. Husker game so in return we (my side of the family) came out for the Husky vs. Husker game this year. Lincoln is a cute town - it has a mix of old homes and new homes and they sure LOVE their football. We had a great time just catching up with everyone, tailgating and watching the game. We left Noah and Caed at home with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Paul. Pearce enjoyed his one on one time with mom and dad.
Pearce's first time on a subway (Seatac). It was 5 AM - ugh.

Pearce watching people walk by at Denver airport.
Our good friends, Jeff, Beth and their adorable kiddos (minus one - Abigail was at school).
Me and my sister.
Todd, Pearce and I at lunch. Pearce looks worried?
Josh, Andi, Danny, Kendra, Me, Todd and Pearce.
This is where we ate lunch - a hole in the wall bar. Did you know that babies are allowed in bars? Crazy!
Josh, Andi, Danny and Pearce at another bar. Pearce is like, "You can't have babies in a bar!"
Yummy cupcakes!
Tailgating food.
Our tailgating party! I have no idea what Andi is doing - she is crazy.
Yummy cookies from Eileen's Bakery - I so wish we had one here.

Getting ready for the big game.
The stadium was a sea of red Husker fans. You can see a little bit of purple representing in the corner:)

Watching the game.
This is how the Huskers celebrate the first touchdown - hundreds of red balloons.
This would be considered environmentally unfriendly here in Washington.
Overall we had a blast! Husker fans are so polite and friendly. We loved the small town of Lincoln and would totally move there if they had mountains, water, and a Starbucks on every corner:)

Office Redo Ideas

This is our office area...
Actually, it is a breakfast nook. We turned it into our office nook a few years ago because it was never used when we had a little table and chairs.
I love mood boards and so I decided to take a whirl at it. I designed mine on Mydeco - which was super easy to use and I love it.
Here is my mood board for our future office area...

Homework Bins

Last year as Noah started Kindergarten I realized that he needed to have school supplies at his fingertips at home for homework in the afternoons. So, I had a little IKEA bucket and threw in some pencils, glue, and scissors. I quickly realized that the school supply bucket needed to be a little bit bigger for stickers, erasers, glue sticks and a bottle of glue. I saw these at Target and knew that they would work perfectly. One for Caeders and one for Noah.

When Noah sits down to do his homework he knows exactly what he needs to do - grab his homework bin and get started.

Simple Fireplace

I have wanted to do this to our fireplace for a couple of years now. So simple but adds a lovely warm, cozy feeling to a room. Love it! I am ready to get rid of our fireplace screen.

Blank Wall Gets Art

I have had this set of three photos for years. I think around 8 years to be exact. They have moved with us several times and have had many different walls to hang on. They have lived on my bedroom floor for over a year now and yesterday I just couldn't take it anymore! So, I made Todd hang them for me. I'm sure it was the last thing he felt like doing but being the gracious hubby he is he did it anyway. They now have a permanent home on our bedroom wall. FINALLY!

This is our current master bedroom although, we have moved our master bedroom to other rooms in our home. Presently we have a friend living in our upstairs master bedroom (that is unfinished.) Someday it will be finished and we will have a beautiful master suite with walk in closet and soaking tub. For now this is our master bedroom...

There it is for now:)

Tooth Fairy

Noah has had a loose tooth since Thursday. He loves to gross me out by wiggling it and pushing on it with his tongue - yuck! Last night we were at Grandpa Paul and Grandma Pat's house and all of the sudden Noah says, "Mom, I lost my tooth." He came in the kitchen with a big grin on his face. So sweet, I just wanted to kiss him. He was soooo proud of losing his first tooth.

Tonight I asked Noah, "What do you think the tooth fairy will bring you?" Noah replied, "I think a toothbrush, mom." I love this boy:)

Camano and Camera

For Labor Day weekend we headed back up to Camano Island with our friends, Scott and Katie (along with their adorable baby boy, Elijah.) We had a lot of fun enjoying the view, chatting, eating and of course, enjoying the beach. Before we left for our weekend my good friend, Kirsten, was gracious enough to let me borrow her Canon Rebel for the weekend. That camera is amazing - it takes the best pictures and I am so excited to own one someday. Here are my favorite shots from the weekend. Enjoy.
