Goodbye and HELLO

My little Canon Powershot is a great little point and shoot camera but, not what I want for quality when it comes to pics for my blog or pics of my kiddos.
Say goodbye to this...
 And HELLO to this...
My new Canon Rebel T3 - I am loving it!

Walmart Ugh!

My sister and her hubby wanted to hit Walmart Thanksgiving day to purchase a ride and drive car for their two boys so Todd and I decided to join in on the fun and see what craziness we could experience. We hit Walmart and it was insane! I have never seen anything like it. People were pushing and shoving to get to the products they had on their list. I was super sick afterwards. It was American consumerism at it's worst, seriously! Here are three pics I took of the chaos. One lady purchased every single game they had displayed (picture below.) Another man purchased every single bike on sale, we wanted to buy one for Noah but when we got to that section he had already loaded hundreds of bikes onto carts. Seriously? It reminded me how important it is to focus on Jesus this Christmas and not be consumed by material things that have no value.

Tomorrow I am going to post some great ways to focus on Jesus this Christmas. Stay tuned...

Infinity Scarf DIY

I saw this on Pinterest...
...and had to try it! After many attempts I finally got it after 2 hours. The tutorial I attempted to follow was just terrible. Sometimes tutorials are just not very good, so watch out! So what did I do? Good ole' You Tube. I found this tutorial which made the sun come out and clouds part. I then quickly whipped up another infinity scarf. I think it took 15 minutes which is amazing compared to 2 hours.
Here is the You Tube tutorial and my visual instructions so that no one will ever spend 2 hours on this little project again. Hope it helps you:)

I Am Blonde!

I did it. I am now blonde and I love it! Although it is a process and come January I will even get lighter. Oh, the things we do to our hair:)

Run Caed, Run!

Last week Noah and Caed's school had their annual Turkey Trot. This is a race around our neighborhood where their school is located. Noah did an awesome job pacing himself in the 1st grade boys race. He ran the entire two blocks without stopping. His Aunt and cousins are visiting and were there to cheer him on - he loved that!

Caed also participated in the Turkey Tot for the preschoolers. They ran a shorter distance. Before we headed to the starting line we got Caed all pumped to win a Turkey (yes, that was the first place prize!) He was super excited and motivated.

He ran hard and took the race on the second turn. Like Noah, he did a great job pacing himself and was able to pass the other boys in his preschool class by saving his energy to run hard to the finish line. We were so proud of both of our boys for doing their best!

Getaway to Seabrook

Over the weekend I was able to getaway with 50 amazing women. Women who live in Tacoma, women who have their own personal and unique stories, women who have walked through good times and hard times, and women who see the importance of community. It was a beautiful weekend being together. We laughed, cried, danced, ate, and created.

Mini-cupcakes, Yum!

Last weekend I helped throw a super fun baby shower for a good friend. I was in charge of creating 100 mini-cupcakes for around 30-40 guests. I searched Pinterest for ideas and came up with the following.
Photo: Lindsay Brooke Photography
Vanilla with lemon buttercream frosting and a mint leaf on top and below are chocolate with raspberry buttercream frosting and a lovely raspberry on top. They were so yummy and fun! We also served Chai  Latte's and we ran out quickly. Most likely because it was cold outside and that you make the Chai by using half and half, yum and more yum.
Here are some pics of the process...

Jewelry Making Birthday

Tonight a bunch of amazing women are getting together to celebrate my good friend, Hannah's birthday. At her request we will be enjoying appetizers, wine and dessert while making jewelry. How fun! Here is what I'm going to be making, uh, or attempting to (tutorial for ball drop earrings). I don't have a lot of jewelry making stuff but I figured a little trip to Michael's might be fun for the boys today, since it is Veterans Day and there is no school. Have a great Veterans Day and enjoy your weekend!

Before Christmas I will...

...create this!

I am in need of a new tree skirt and this is just perfect. A lot of cutting and hot glue - oh dear, me and hot glue guns are not very good friends at times. I am so excited to start on this project:) Here is the ruffle tree skirt tutorial if you are as excited as me to get started on this one.

Family Fall Pics

Since Caed was a newborn we have had our great friend, Lindsay, take family pics of us in front of our house each year during fall. We love our neighborhood in the fall and Lindsay (Lindsay Brooke Photography) always captures our family so well. Here are pics from the last four years...

And here are our 2011 pics... wow, I love these boys!
