Pearce is 1

I can't believe it has been one year since Pearce entered into this world. He is the happiest baby ever and we have enjoyed every moment of this last year. Our family wouldn't be complete without him. He is a huge blessing and he always puts a big smile on our face. Here is a video that I made to celebrate Pearce's first year of life! Thank you Jesus for Pearce.

Craftsman Bath Update

We are one week and two days into our major bathroom remodel. Major means we have completely gutted the room down to the studs and even replaced plumbing and water lines. We have come a long way in one week but Todd has A TON of tiling to do. Of course, I want subway tile up to the ceiling in the shower, this is Todd's "favorite" to install. Hopefully the subway tile adventure will begin tomorrow!

New Tacoma Children's Museum

Last Saturday we headed to the opening of Tacoma's new Children's Museum. It was soooo exciting! We have been waiting for this for a long time. We purchased a Little Traveler's membership so that we could go to the Tacoma museum, Olympia museum (where my sister lives) and Everett museum (where my parents live.) It's so handy having the pass and you get a few extra perks with the membership like; a discount on Satelitte Coffee at the Children's Museum, free parking, any adult can accompany our kiddos, and much more. Check it out here...Tacoma Children's Museum!

Vanity Hunt

Apparently, I am the pickiest person ever when it comes to bathroom vanities. I don't want some boring standard vanity I want something fun, unique, the perfect dimensions and matches the character of our house. This is proving to be extremely difficult. Todd and I have decided to make our own vanity - find an old dresser, table and add a sink - viola! We are still on the hunt for the perfect piece of furniture to transform. Here are some pieces that inspire me...don't you just LOVE Pinterest. Seriously!

A Couch?

Today I ran down to Habitat For Humanity Re-Store in Tacoma to see if I could find a vanity cabinet for our gutted bathroom (that's another story) and I came across this beauty. Seriously, I LOVED the yellow fabric. I wanted to take it home and make it work with my upcoming grey paint but, I had to focus on the task at hand - ugh, the hunt for a bathroom vanity!

Craftsman Bath Remodel

The only room we have never touched in our Craftsman home is the bath. It was "updated" in the early 80's and amazingly it was the best room of the house when we purchased our bungalow 8 years ago. The only thing we have done in the bath is paint. Last week we purchased a new toilet and Todd was planning to replace it this weekend when we suddenly heard gushing water. We ran into the bathroom and found that the hose connected to the toilet had come undone and water was spraying everywhere. Thankfully we were home and caught it in time! As Todd took out the toilet he asked if he could just gut the entire thing and I said, "YES, PLEASE!" So, we are in the middle of a major bathroom redo and Todd has 3 days to bust it out. Here are my ideas for the bathroom - we are headed to our local home improvement store to get it figured out today.

Hex tile on the floor, a new bathtub, subway tile around the tub and up to the ceiling, a new window (which was covered up by the old tub surround), a new dark wood vanity and sink, a medicine cabinet, and a new toilet. Oh, it sounds so simple, doesn't it? After tearing out sheet rock and plaster yesterday we realized that this is a big job, but Todd is super great at it, thankfully:)

Desk and Paint

We are slowly transforming our small office nook - one nap at a time! Last night I quickly finished the stenciling in the corner so Todd could install the desk. The stenciling went really well and I really enjoyed doing it. I'm not so sure I could do an entire room though. Lots of patience are needed for this detailed project!

I am working on re-doing our office nook and I am so excited to get it done and show you the amazing results. Today this is what I will be doing on one of the walls in our office...

This should be interesting!

Trouble but Happy

The other day I was busy on getting a few things done around the house and found this little guy doing this...

Sheer determination...I have no idea where he gets that!

I love this little guy!
