Community Living

Over the years we have had many people live with us. Whether it be they were getting on their feet, going to school, visiting Tacoma for a couple of months for an internship, or because their house needed some repairs done. People ask, "You always have someone living with you. Why?" The answer is simple. What we have is not ours. God is our provider and He is good to us. We have struggled with finances but despite that challenge we still feel called to open up our doors. Granted we always seek God in who we have live with us and wisdom to sort through situations that arise. Ultimately it teaches us and our boys to not live for ourselves. God has not called us to live comfortably He has called us to obey Him - even if it is hard at times. We are so blessed by those that have shared our home with us. Living in community is a blessing!

We are committed to living in and building community because of Jesus' love for us and what He has done, NOT because we think community is the answer to all of life's issues but, because we KNOW and BELIEVE that Jesus is.

Here is a poster I saw on Pinterest with some great ideas on How to Build Community. Simple ideas! I may have to add my own and whip up a poster for our art wall:)

Happy Birthday Noah!

Happy birthday to our amazing 7 year old. He is smart, sweet, sensitive, cares for others, and is constantly asking questions about Jesus. We love this growing young man!

He was so little! 6 lbs. born on June 25, 2005 - Noah was 3 weeks early. Look how big Todd's hand is compared to Noah's little head.

This is Noah a couple of weeks ago on his 1st grade field trip to Owens Beach. He is so full of happiness and life.

Art Wall in Progress

I have a large blank wall in my family room and I am ready to start hanging some art. I don't want just anything on it - I want to hang pieces that I truly love. So, here is the start to my art wall...

Happy Father's Day 2012!

I am the luckiest girl in the world! I married the most amazing man. A man that loves me and our three little boys unconditionally. He works extremely hard to provide for us (even though it's been hard over the last couple of years), he cares for the boys' hearts and pursues them and engages with them daily. I am so thankful that he is the father to my kiddos! Happy Father's Day Todd:)

Here it is all finished and now hanging in our family room:)

Flower and Veggie Garden

This year we planted two rows of Dahlias and then some veggies using the square foot garden idea. If you don't know what that is here is a web site with some information for ya... Frugal Dad blog has some great ideas!

We would like to make a raised bed but just didn't have time this year. We planted zucchini, beans, tomatoes, cilantro (for homemade salsa), peppers and strawberries. We will see what happens this year! The boys love the garden - Caed gets so excited to get his hands in the dirt and plant the seeds.

Today I put him to work helping me create garden signs so that we know what is what in each square foot. I came across a great idea on Pinterest (of course!) I grabbed a bunch of wine corks and kabob skewers for our little signs. This was super easy and didn't cost me anything because we had everything we needed in our house. What a great idea, thank you Pinterest!

A Big Smile!

What would make him smile so big...

Watching daddy hit golf balls in the backyard.
