Over the last couple of years as Pinterest has grown there has been a new sort of "depression" happening among moms. As you search Pinterest you realize as a mom that you aren't organized, don't have cute "mom" clothes, you aren't educating your children the way you should be, your house doesn't look like it should be in Better Homes and Garden magazine, you eat terribly, don't plan meals well, aren't great at saving money or organizing your finances, and on and on the list goes.
I have good news for you! You aren't super mom and the only person putting those expectations on you is yourself - not Pinterest or Facebook or any other media source. You belong to God. He created you and thinks you are beautifully and wonderfully made for His purposes. I have come to a place in my walk with Jesus to seek him. Seek Him to make my calling clear - yes I am a momma to 3 crazy boys (and a 17 year old exchange student as well) but, I am not defined by what I can or cannot do. I am defined by my grace filled relationship with my Savior and my Father. So next time you feel inadequate due to all those awesome pins on Pinterest call out to Jesus ask him to save you from yourself.
Each day I wake up and ask God what He has for me for the day. It's freeing! It's a relief to know that I don't need to have it all planned out and perfect. I will fail but when I fail it makes my need for Jesus huge and that speaks volumes to the world. Our Father is good and He cares about your heart. So, draw close to Him and He will tell you what He desires for your life as a mommy. He wants you to be real about where you are at and will call you to live a life that glorifies Him. Now that's freedom! Freedom from Pinterest mommy depression.
