Always and Fully in 2014

(This picture was taken at Seabrook in November. The beach reminds me of how great God is!)

Last night I was feeling discouraged. Todd and I, for the last year have felt "stuck." We are waiting on God for what's next for our family. There is nothing we can do but wait on our Father for clarity and wisdom. We are completely dependent on Him in this season of our life. Here is what God reminded me of...

1 Corinthians 15:58
"Therefore my dear brothers, stand firm! Let nothing move you. ALWAYS give yourselves FULLY to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

It is the day to day, ordinary "life stuff" that we are called to always and fully give ourselves to. It can be the simplest things like; being friendly to others as you run errands, listening to others especially when they share their heart with you, responding to our children with grace and love, having conversations with co-workers that push them toward Jesus. The work we do with Jesus doesn't mean we need a paid position "doing ministry," we are called to live on mission no matter what season of life we are in. It's not rocket science it's the simple daily stuff that really matters. Jesus calls us to be obedient in that, always and fully. I need to be reminded of this over and over again. My desire for our family in 2014 is ALWAYS AND FULLY - give your life away for the sake of Jesus. I can rest knowing that it doesn't need to be perfect or be noticed but it's the ordinary stuff that glorifies God. One of my favorite quotes from The Hobbit...

"I found it's in the small everyday deeds of ordinary people that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love."

Always and fully, everyday deeds of ordinary people, this brings glory to God. Our family is ordinary, nothing great about how we live but Jesus is great and when we live always and fully for Him He becomes greater in our lives and the lives of those around us. Live your life ALWAYS and FULLY in 2014.
